Account Status Codes

The Account Status Code identifies the current condition of the account as of the reporting period. Codes marked PR require a corresponding Payment Rating value.

Code Description
11 Current account (0–29 days past the due date)

For Installment and Mortgage loans, the account should be current with a non-zero Balance Amount. For Credit Line, Open, and Revolving portfolio types, the account should be current and available for use. If the account is closed but has a balance due, report Special Comment Code M or Compliance Condition Code XA to indicate that it is no longer available for use.

1313 Paid or closed account/zero balance PR

For Installment and Mortgage loans, the account must be paid with a zero Balance Amount. For Credit Line, Open, and Revolving portfolios, the account must be unavailable for use with a zero Balance Amount. Report Special Comment Code M or Compliance Condition Code XA, if applicable, to indicate the account is closed.

Also report Payment Rating with this Account Status Code.

611 Account paid in full, was a voluntary surrender

Current Balance and Amount Past Due must be zero.

621 Account paid in full, was a collection account

Current Balance and Amount Past Due must be zero.

631 Account paid in full, was a repossession

Current Balance and Amount Past Due must be zero.

641 Account paid in full, was a charge-off

Current Balance and Amount Past Due must be zero.

651 Account paid in full. A foreclosure was started.

Current Balance and Amount Past Due must be zero.

Also report Payment Rating with this Account Status Code.

712 Account 30–59 days past the due date
782 Account 60–89 days past the due date
802 Account 90–119 days past the due date
822 Account 120–149 days past the due date
832 Account 150–179 days past the due date
842 Account 180 days or more past the due date
883 Claim filed with government for insured portion of balance on a defaulted loan PR

Also report Payment Rating with this Account Status Code.

893 Deed received in lieu of foreclosure on a defaulted mortgage; there may be a balance due PR

93 Account assigned to internal or external collections
943 Foreclosure completed; there may be a balance due PR

953 Voluntary surrender; there may be a balance due PR

Also report Payment Rating with this Account Status Code.

96 Merchandise was repossessed; there may be a balance due

97 Unpaid balance reported as a loss (charge-off)

DA Delete entire account (for reasons other than fraud)

Note: To preserve credit information integrity, data furnishers should request deletion of account history only when an actual reporting error occurred. Paid derogatory accounts, such as collections, should be reported as paid, not deleted.

DF Delete entire account due to confirmed fraud (fraud investigation completed)

1 This Account Status Code is final and requires no further updates.

2 For Credit Line, Open, and Revolving portfolios, also report Special Comment M or Compliance Condition Code XA when the account is closed to show it is no longer available for use.

3 A Payment Rating code is required when using Account Status 13, 65, 88, 89, 94 or 95. For all other Account Status codes leave the Payment Rating code blank.
